KRUG

The House was founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a visionary, non-conformist and with an uncompromising philosophy. His dream was to create the best Champagne possible every year, regardless of the annual climatic variations. Joseph Krug achieved his dream by paying close attention to the character of the vineyard, respecting the individuality of each plot and its wine, and building up an extensive library of reserve wines from different years. Drawing on a traditional approach to Champagne making, he decided to go beyond the very notion of vintage in order to create, each year, the most generous expression of Champagne. He thus founded a House where all Champagnes would be of the same level of distinction. Since then, six generations of the Krug family have pursued this dream, enriching the vision and know-how of the founder of the House.
