GRANDE DAME ROSÉ 2015
A tribute to the pioneering spirit of Madame Clicquot.
About this vintage
La Grande Dame pays tribute to the pioneering spirit of Madame Clicquot, known as "the Grande Dame of Champagne". This cuvée embodies two of her major innovations: the development of the first vintage champagne in 1810 and the creation of the first known blended rosé champagne in 1818. Thus, this cuvée is composed of 90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay, and 13% red wine from the historic "Clos Colin" plot located in Bouzy. It highlights Veuve Clicquot's oenological expertise in the development and aging of blended champagne, as well as the selection of a base of Historical Crus: Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Aÿ for the Pinot Noir and Avize and Mesnil-sur-Oger for the Chardonnay.
